Also – have a good time knowing that there is zero editing on this, so its fully raw, mistakes and all 🙂 (Oh, shy of brightening it and adding credits, that technically counts as editing I guess.)

FOZZY:  CHASING THE GRAIL

This is a far removed band from their cheesy piss-take beginnings, this is a professional outfit with some great talent and forceful presence, no hint of wrestling or homage to the sport in sight, in fact, as per the interview, this is all very separate in its class and style.  Unlike his on screen persona, Jericho proves to be no coward, attacking some challenging and superb vocals with confidence and really nailing it, this is a huge change in the dynamic of the band, No longer are they clinging to covers or pushing fun tunes with some class, this is driven heavy metal.

This is not however original in its style, of course not, there are thousands like it, but this does a job of holding its own and managing to keep afloat among a sea of similar acts on the verge of obscurity, in fact this band have returned with instant credibility.  Sure, the (current) WWE champ’s  presence in the band has helped springboard the band and get it recognised, but its the superb work of the dynamic duo of Rich Ward and Chris Jericho that keeps it up.

The release isn’t without flaw, some tracks don’t really hit the mark (I’ll let you decide which) but overall, it’s a great release with some good strong choruses, great fusion of euro-epic and American-hard rock!

Ace 9/10
